FAQ

Questions People Often Ask

How long is a therapy session?

Standard individual sessions are 45 minutes. If you’d like longer sessions, we can arrange that, and the fee is adjusted to match the length. We can talk through what fits best during your initial consultation.

Do you accept insurance?

I don’t accept insurance; however, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your specific benefits.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, I keep a limited number of reduced-fee spots available. If my standard fee doesn’t work for you right now, I’d welcome a conversation about it.

When is payment due?

Payment is due at the time of each session.

What types of therapy do you practice?

My approach integrates several therapeutic models, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), AEDP, EMDR, CBT, ACT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and somatic approaches. I don’t believe in using one model for every client. I personalize treatment based on your needs, goals, personality, and what we discover together in therapy.

How often would we meet?

Many clients begin with weekly sessions, as consistency can help build momentum and create continuity in the therapeutic process. Depending on your needs, goals, and circumstances, sessions may be more or less frequent.

Will you talk during sessions, or mostly listen? What if I don’t know what to talk about?

You don’t have to know what you want to talk about.

I am an active therapist. While I want you to have plenty of space to talk and explore, I am not someone who simply sits back and listens without participating. I ask questions, offer observations, share perspectives, and help you notice patterns. I also check in with you regularly about whether what we’re doing feels helpful. Therapy is something we do together.

What happens in a typical session?

There is no standard script. We may discuss something happening in your life, explore a relationship, process an emotion, look at a recurring pattern, examine your thoughts, explore your past, or focus on something you’re experiencing in the moment. The direction of therapy is guided by what is most meaningful and useful for you.

What if I’m not sure you’re the right therapist for me?

That’s completely okay. Finding the right therapist is important. The initial consultation is an opportunity for both of us to determine whether working together makes sense. If I don’t believe I’m the right person to help you, I’ll be honest with you and, when possible, help you identify other resources.

Do you see clients online?

Yes. I see clients in person at 36 Ben Yehuda, in the center of Jerusalem, starting in November 2026, and online by secure video anywhere in Israel or abroad. For clients in the United States, I see people located in Illinois. New York and New Jersey are coming soon. Sessions are in English.

How long is the free consultation?

It’s a 15-minute conversation by phone or video: a chance to get to know one another, talk about what brings you in, and see whether I might be a good fit. You won’t be pressured to continue.

The first step is simply a conversation. We’ll listen.
